Lebanon filmfest enlists Iran film as competitor

Iran short film 'Return' is to vie at the 9th Karama Beirut Human Rights Film Festival.

Iran short film 'Return' is slated to enroll in the competition section of the 9th edition of Karama Beirut Human Rights Film Festival.

Directed by Shahriar Pourseyedian, 'Return' will experience its 6th international screening in the Lebanese film event. 

The short has previously won an award at 2018 Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.  

It has also got Best Film nomination at the 19th Izmir International Short Film Festival as well as nom for Best Sound Editing at the 3rd International Short Film Festival Pune in India.  

The film is about a man named Rahim who has been in prison for 23 years. Now, he comes back to his hometown to visit his brother. The trip back home brings to light some unspeakable secrets.

Karama Beirut Human Rights Film Festival (HRFF) contributes to spreading a Human Rights Cinema that denounces racism, hatred discourse, discrimination and injustice.

The festival screens a selection of films from around the world, and holds open discussions to shed light on human rights violations worldwide and the prospects of social change and progress.

The event is set for December 5-10, 2018 in Amman, the capital of Jordan, Lebanon.
